We decided on making a video before we went abroad. Now that we’re home this is what we’ve ended up with. Take a walk with us abroad.
LAV goes Home
So it was hard for us to blog while abroad, but our time there really was indescribable. So I’ll post some LAV moments before we left, so we can relive the best 3 months of our lives.

Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland
We have exactly one more week till we depart for SFO, so this past weekend was our second to last full weekend here in London. Since I’m trying to avoid writing my essays, here are some highlights from the past few days:
- Hyde Park Winter Wonderland: we went ice skating while listening to some awesome live music, and then we went on the Giant Wheel. We MUST go again and go on all the rides. They have some ride like Fireball at the Boardwalk/Delirium at Great America, except it actually goes all the way around. Are there less regulations on rides here?
- Discovered a delicious Japanese restaurant by our flat: this place was literally silent, so it was super awks when we walked in. We were definitely the loudest people in there. It’s not our fault! We can’t help it. (But maybe we went a bit overboard with the singing.)
- Piccadilly Institute: ‘Nuff said.
- Parent Trap House: We found the house they filmed the Parent Trap in, and it’s within walking distance from our flat. Seriously, we’ve seen so many things from movies on this trip. Childhood dreams come alive abroad!
- Abbey Road: It was a struggle finding this road (the tube stop we needed to go to was “broken,” a.k.a. the escalators were not working a.k.a. they just became stairs), and when we got there, there were so many tourists and cars passing through that it was hard to get a picture (thanks, pink puffy jacket woman). But, we did it, and it was worth it!
- Brick Lane: We went to the same restaurant, Aladin, last week, so they remembered us. The first time we were there, they gave us free rice. This week, they gave us a Christmas card and a handful of chocolates. They also had some poppin’ music up in there. Desi Boyz, anyone? After that, we went to the market and bought a few things (TASTY TEAS! How yo’ teas so tasty?).
Okay, maybe I should get back to those essays… after I eat breakfast. :) ADIOS!

LAV goes International
With classes and weekend getaways, we definitely haven’t had time to blog enough while we’ve been abroad. While we’ve been spending plenty of time in London, we went on a month of travels and have finally stopped. We’ve only got two more weeks here and then we head back to the states?! This can’t be real life. Anyway let’s recount some of the places we’ve been to:
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Zannse Schans
- Brugges, Belgium
- Barcelona, Spain
- Milan, Italy
- Florence, Italy
- Rome, Italy
- Vienna, Austria
- Paris, France
As you can see, TRIPS ON TRIPS. Blogs and pictures of each trip coming up shortly!

These Artic Winds are No Joke
After traveling 3 weekends in a row, we’re finally back. But not for long, we’re off for one week going to Italy and then Austria for the end of our week. For now, we’ve just been hit with London’s cold weather. As we’ve found out, when the cold comes, it really comes. Everyday I look outside and it’s sunny but little do I know how brisk it actually is outside. At least we can put on our clothes that made our suitcases so heavy when we took them up 8 flights of stairs a month and a half ago.
Now it’s off to pack for Italy on Friday! LAV world travels blog will be coming soon!

This is too accurate not to reblog
Three C’s
Clutzy
Because today I was walking out of the post office and suddenly starting tumbling down the steps as I was walking to put my postcards in the mail pick up box. Luckily I caught myself and turned around in time so I was on my knees facing the steps rather than on my face on the floor. In doing so I scraped up knees and shins and rolled my ankle. I really don’t know what happened. Also I’ve been dropping everything today.
Cravings
Because lately all three of us have been craving everything. Jamba Juice, crepes, home cooked meals, chips salsa and guacamole, peanut butter and jelly, oreo cookies, and food in general.
Classes
Why must they have 3 hour classes here? I would rather get up everyday and go to class for an hour instead of coming 1 day a week for 3 hours. I am gone after the first 1 and a half. Over it.
I think we’re all becoming pretty acclimated here. I love it that we call our flat home now
